An Accelerated BSN
This spring, the School's first 24-member cohort of Accelerated BSN (ABSN) students will earn their degrees.
Arriving two years ago with many of their early courses completed, these students navigate two years of full-time study, dive into clinical rotations after just a few months on UVA’s Grounds, and emerge having enjoyed the same world-class teaching, mentoring, and rich clinical experiences as their BSN peers in the School’s four-year traditional program.
“I think sometimes people get scared away from an accelerated program,” explained ABSN student McKenna Mason (BSN ’24), who heads to Yale University for a master’s program this fall, “but the skills and competence you develop really allow you to keep the ball rolling. There are no pauses, no rests; you just keep on going, and you feel as you go that you’re really, truly ready.”
